Portfolio Automotive – Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order with Portfolio Automotive, you agree to all terms outlined in this document.

2. Disclaimer and Limitation of Responsibility

Portfolio Automotive is not responsible for missed service appointments, installation bookings, or related schedule delays for any reason. All products are designed for aftermarket modification and are sold as-is, with no guarantee of compatibility with any specific vehicle configuration or condition. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure installation is performed correctly and safely.

Portfolio Automotive products are engineered for high-performance, model-specific integration. While we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our systems, performance may vary based on installation quality, vehicle condition, and system compatibility. Portfolio Automotive makes no warranty of fitness for unintended, unauthorized, or non-specified applications. Additionally, issues arising from known or unknown conditions of the vehicle—such as, but not limited to, degraded wiring, altered electronics, or prior damage—are outside the scope of warranty coverage.

3. Product Use Compliance

Customers are responsible for ensuring their use of the product complies with local, regional, and national laws.

4. Standard Warranty

A 12-month limited warranty covers manufacturing defects. Portfolio Automotive is not liable for delays or costs related to vehicle downtime or missed installation appointments. This warranty does not cover failures caused by existing or latent issues within the customer’s vehicle, including but not limited to electrical faults, third-party wiring, prior modifications, or system-level incompatibility outside of Portfolio Automotive’s control.

Warranty coverage is not extended to cover use of the product as a diagnostic aid or attempted repair solution. See Section 16 for full details.

Warranty does not cover delays in vehicle repair timelines or service scheduling. Warranty coverage does not extend to failures resulting from pre-existing vehicle faults, electrical anomalies, or integration attempts outside recommended vehicle models.

Warranty coverage is not extended to cover use of the product as a diagnostic aid or attempted repair solution. See Section 16 for full details.

6. Warranty Registration

Claims are valid only for registered products. Claims for lost installation slots or labor due to registration issues are not covered.

7. Warranty Claims Process

Claims must be submitted in writing within 15 calendar days of discovering a defect, and no later than 30 days from delivery for visible or shipping-related issues. Claims must include proof of purchase, registration confirmation, and return of the defective item. A troubleshooting checklist must be completed prior to approval.

Portfolio Automotive is not liable for any appointments missed due to pending warranty resolution. Portfolio Automotive reserves the right to recover reasonable costs for invalid or unfounded claims unless the customer demonstrates good faith.

Warranty claims involving any conditions excluded under Section 13 will be denied. It is the claimant’s responsibility to review warranty exclusions prior to submission.

8. Return Policy

Products returned for warranty must include all parts and original packaging. Portfolio Automotive is not responsible for delays in rescheduling services caused by product returns.

9. Non-Transferability

Warranty applies only to the original purchaser and vehicle. Portfolio Automotive assumes no liability for downstream labor or scheduling impacts.

10. Orders and Shipping

Customer is responsible for accurate shipping info. Portfolio Automotive is not liable for labor loss or missed appointments due to shipment delays.

Please refer to Section 19 for inspection requirements and liability limitations for missing or damaged goods.

11. Returns and Cancellations

30-day return window with 20% restocking fee. Returns do not qualify for compensation for delayed or canceled installations.

12. Limitation of Liability

Portfolio Automotive is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, including missed appointments or rescheduling fees.

13. Warranty Exclusions

The following are not covered under any warranty:

  • Damage from external causes including impact, misuse, drops, liquids, heat

  • Environmental damage beyond specifications (e.g., moisture, temperature extremes)

  • Failure to follow maintenance or installation instructions

  • Cosmetic-only wear, such as scratches or surface blemishes

  • Damage by unauthorized installers or third-party negligence

  • Electrical issues caused by poor supply, voltage error, or grounding

  • Use of incompatible or unapproved accessories or components

  • Software or firmware tampering or unauthorized modification

  • Natural disasters or “acts of God” (fire, flood, lightning, etc.)

  • Damage from improper return packaging

  • Failures or performance issues resulting from underlying vehicle conditions, such as, but not limited to, degraded wiring, unreported system faults, or prior modifications not disclosed during support or claim evaluation

Portfolio Automotive reserves the right to inspect and deny coverage if a product is found to be altered, misused, or returned without complete parts or documentation. Warranty will be void for any units serviced, modified, or diagnosed by non-authorized personnel. Warranty begins upon installation or 6 months after delivery, whichever occurs first. Claims for minor deviations in quality or insignificant usability issues are excluded.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to them shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

The parties agree that the state and federal courts located in New Hanover County, North Carolina shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any such disputes.

15. Revisions

Portfolio Automotive may update these terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

16. Diagnostic Use and Limitations of Remedies

Products are not guaranteed to fix specific vehicle issues. Sales under diagnostic intent are final. Missed service appointments due to unresolved issues are not Portfolio Automotive’s responsibility.

17. Ordering Accuracy and Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ordering correct items and entering valid addresses. Portfolio Automotive is not liable for any delays, including labor charges for incorrect parts.

18. Shipping Method Limitations

Portfolio Automotive may adjust shipping methods. We are not responsible for scheduling issues caused by unexpected delivery times.

19. Shipping Loss or Damage

Customers must inspect shipments upon delivery. Portfolio Automotive is not liable for labor or scheduling costs due to missing or damaged shipments.

20. Import Duties and Customs

All international duties, taxes, and regulatory delays are the customer’s responsibility. Portfolio Automotive does not compensate for missed labor due to customs issues.

21. Privacy Policy

Customer data is used only for order fulfillment and legal compliance. No data is sold.

22. Vehicle Condition and System Compatibility

Portfolio Automotive designs products for vehicles in proper mechanical and electrical working order. If installed on vehicles with underlying issues—such as, but not limited to, degraded wiring, power inconsistencies, modified control modules, or non-OEM configurations—performance may be impaired or installation may fail. Portfolio Automotive is not liable for delays, damage, or costs caused by such incompatibilities.
